Eric Holder Or A Hamster- Who Is A Smarter Manager ?

By Susan Duchon

Essentially, the hamster style of management is not new to us, pet lovers. This is based on how we feed and take good care of our small buddies on its little cage. Did you notice how they react on foods that you gave? Did you observe its behavior inside the cage? Did you know the reason why management took place in a life of this little buddy? The answers are simple. First, hamsters do not bite the hands that feed them. Second, they do not have interest on the outside world but tend to explore on their small 'playground' inside the cage. Third, they do not eat the food you give but save it in one place.

Why hamster management? Perhaps the workplace setting is one big microcosm of the world - not unlike one gigantic Dilbert cartoon or TV episode in the making . When we talk about managing one company, personnel should always look at the managers with respect. They should follow what their managers say and ask. They should not betray the person who molds them into better persons and excellent employees. When it comes to plan, a manager should not do it alone.

A hamster doesn't eat the food you give, because sometimes they hide it under a blanket. Why? Is this buddy not hungry? The answer is yes. A hamster will not going to eat unless their stomach are already producing growling sounds. It saves the food for future use. On the other hand, a manager should be like this little buddy. He should not invest a money or in a deal if he cannot attend it due to other old investments. He should not put the company and personnel in a distress mode by giving them lots of jobs that they cannot do ahead of time.

A manger should also play within limits. He should not gamble without possible interventions when plan C fails. Essentially, a manager must think of the easier ways to handle the personnel than to withdraw their rights because of selfishness. The best strategy to do is very simple. A delegation of task is the key to successful management and work. This is the only way to handle chaos and issues around the workplace. It is the best task that a manager can do.

The hamster style of management is one of the best tactics that every manager must know. It is a safe technique for novice managers and of course, for beginners who do not have enough grasps in marketing industries. Can you imagine a life without incompetent managers? Can you imagine how easy the things are?
