Very Famous Water Color Artists

During the early 1500s, painting took off as one of the most famous forms of art because it was able to create really beautiful pictures of still life, animals, and scenery. Along with oil painting, another form of painting also made its way into the world of art which is known as watercolor painting. Of course it was because of some of these very influential water color artists that this particular form of painting was able to evolve into a very popular art form even up until today.

One of the earliest practitioners of this form would be none other than Albrecht Durer who was an artist from Europe. He was one of the very first people to start watercolor painting sometime during the Renaissance period. He was well known for his extremely detailed works of animals and some still life that really pays close attention to each small stroke.

Another very influential artist would be none other than J. M. W. Turner whose works concentrated on European scenery. His works were not very detailed as compared to other artists but they definitely had a certain charm to them. They were quite simple but very beautiful at the same time which intrigued a lot of appreciators of the arts.

Because of its appearance in a lot of television programs and a lot of movies, the signature painting of James McNeill Whistler, which was Whistlers Mother, became famous in this century. Whistler was a man who was known to paint both his mother and his sister. What made his works famous is his energetic strokes along with the bond combination of colors.

Sometime in the nineteenth century, a famous self taught artist who is known as Winslow Homer who created a lot of watercolor paintings about landscapes and other things made a name for himself in the world of painting. He experimented with many different ways on how to use the brush wherein he was able to come up with different kinds of paintings. Some of these techniques were used by many succeeding painters as these techniques were able to produce so many beautiful works.

In abstract art, Paul Kee was a watercolor artist that dabbled in the world of abstract painting. His favorite shape to use in has works was the cube and he painted the cube in a lot of different lights. In fact, many other modern artists still follow his style until today but make use of other types of shapes.

American painter Edward Hopper was another well known painter who made paintings about everyday American life. His techniques when it comes to painting shadows and light were definitely something that not many artists could do. It was actually because of his extensive study on the direction of light that he was able to paint like that.

In the world of watercolor painting, these are some of the names that have actually aided with the development of this type of form. These famous water color artists are known because their skills with the brush were second to none. It was because of their contribution to the art world that watercolor painting in general took off.
